Pembroke recently inducted Richard Lord of Richelieu Hardware into its Hall of Fame. This year’s event, which took place in Montreal, featured a fireside chat between Nicolas Chevalier, Pembroke’s managing partner, and Richard Lord.
Lord is a visionary businessman from Saint-Damase-de-L’Islet. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Management (CMA) and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CPA), and held management positions at Bombardier, Mark Hot and RONA before becoming President, Chief Executive Officer and a major shareholder of Richelieu in 1988. Under his leadership, the company’s sales increased from $27 million to over $1.8 billion by 2024, thanks to a growth strategy centred on innovation and customer focus, as well as over 95 acquisitions. Richelieu is now a North American leader in the distribution of products for the woodworking and renovation industry.
As part of Pembroke’s annual Hall of Fame event, Pembroke was honoured to have the opportunity to showcase the expertise of a wealth creator who has shaped the almost six decades of history of the firm.
